Concepts
The vocabulary this platform uses.
Plain definitions, because several of these words are used loosely elsewhere and the looseness is where misunderstandings start.
- Dimensiontime · space · truth · source
- Where a statement stands, not a reporting axis. Time is when it held and when it was known; space, where; truth, whose word it is and how it is held; source, which system it came from. Change any one and you have a different statement rather than an edited row. One query can filter on all four at once.
- Claim
- A statement somebody or something made, kept with who made it and on what authority. Claims about the same thing live side by side rather than being merged, and an answer says which one it used. Withdrawing one rewrites nothing.
- Authority
- The party a claim stands under — a store, a shop, an inspector. Kept with the claim, so it can be challenged, not just recorded.
- World time and knowledge time
- When something was true, and when you came to hold it. Two clocks. Keep only the first and you cannot say what you knew when you decided; keep only the second and you cannot say when something became true, only when it was written down.
- Containment
- Space as nesting you can walk up and down: a shelf in a store at a station; a position on an aircraft in a hangar bay at the same station. Walking up reaches the station from either leaf, and the answer says which kind of place it landed in.
- Bindingsource matching
- The link asserting that records in different systems describe the same real thing — by a key they share, or with a confidence you supply where they don't, and on what basis. The alternative to a golden record: nothing is overwritten, and a weak match is visible as a weak match.
- Confidence floor
- The minimum match strength a question will accept. Set per question, not per system. Raise it and fewer records count as the same thing: the rest stay beside the answer as unconfirmed candidates, never silently merged.
- Scope
- What a question is asked under: the moment it is about and the date it is known as of, which place, which kinds of claim count, which sources and which confidence floor — and the whole answer follows when one of them changes.
- Orrery
- Selira's operational model and engine. It holds the operation — the records your systems hold and the context around them — answers compound questions in one query, and runs the work on it. Low-level and general: a composition is where it starts, not a boundary.
- Intui
- Selira's interface, where people and agents work together. Today a copilot carries out defined tasks asked in plain language, and every answer says what it stands on; any question in your own words is where it is going. Orrery and Intui come together, as one platform.
- Composition
- The platform already configured for a kind of operation — its things, its vocabulary, its systems of record, its questions. A starting point you change, not a product with a separate licence. Airside, Forge and Relay are compositions.
- Protocol and process
- A protocol is a procedure, declared once: its steps and their order. A process is one run of it, carried out exactly as declared, step by step against the model, and resumed where it stopped if anything fails. Rules about what may happen at all — a capacity, a quota, something that must hold — are declared apart from both (in build), so a rule can change without rewriting the work.
- Quantity kind
- What sort of quantity a measurement is, carried alongside its unit, so figures of different kinds are never compared or summed — whatever their columns were called.
- Operational twinthe direction
- A model of how a whole operation runs, rather than of how one asset behaves — the things, the places, the people and the work, each placed in time, space, truth and source. A digital twin usually models one asset or one network closely: its physics, its data, its behaviour.
If a word here is doing work you disagree with, say so.
Vocabulary is load-bearing in this kind of system, and operators are usually right about their own words.
